Where I’ve Been…The Spark Notes Version

For those of you who have been following me for a while either on here or my various social media platforms have noticed a significant drop in content ranging from blog posts to video and pictures. Theirs a couple reasons for this, first I went through some significant life changes the last two years with a divorce and career change and I kind of lost the motivation to write. I continued to ride the Tiger for a bit until fate intervened in the form of a Nissan Altima. One day when I left work, I was riding the Tiger home and an oncoming car made a left hand turn in front of me at 45 miles an hour, which resulted in the Tiger being totaled and I received a nice stay in the ER at the hospital. My injuries were pretty significant, I broke 12 ribs, fractured my T7 to T9 vertebrae, fractured my pelvis, and broke my left wrist in two places. Things could have been much worse however, my gear saved me. Every part of my body that was armored or protected was fine. After a significant wreck like this I stepped back from motorcycles for a little bit to heal and slowly got back into the saddle.

Since the Tiger was totaled, I focused more on off road riding and picked up a 2023 Beta 390 RR-S dual sport. The Beta was an awesome bike and had the “out of the box, on to the track” appeal. For a few months I rode trails and dirt roads in Francis Marion National Forest near my house and even took it to Kentucky to the Red River Scramble which is an adventure/dual sport rally in Eastern Kentucky. I started to feel a little braver and wanted to venture on paved backroads and some light off pavement riding, so I picked up a 2024 Triumph Scrambler 900. The Scrambler wasn’t a bad bike, and it was nice to ride but I didn’t really love it. However, it did fulfill the job of getting me used to riding on pavement again. As the calendar turned to 2024, I felt ready to get back out there and adventure ride and used my connections at work… (I have a horrible job of working at a Triumph dealer) and decided to pick up a 2023 Triumph Tiger 900 Aragon Rally.

Which brings us to now, I’ve slowly healed from my injuries, and we’ll have regained the motivation to as a buddy of mine says “do stupid things on big bikes.” I’ve developed some great friendships in the adventure riding community and have done some collaborations which I’ll post about on here or other places on the interwebs. As for blogging, I’ve developed a list of articles I need to write such as bike reviews on the Beta and Scrambler and I have quite a few drafts of previous riding adventures that I really need to finish. So, buckle up and hold on because this year is going to be much better than the last.
